Advancing Equity in Construction: ASA Build Her Up Event

This June, the Build Her Up event in Arizona brought together industry professionals and thought leaders for a dynamic forum focused on equity, inclusion, and workplace safety, especially within male-dominated industries like construction. The event was a powerful reminder of how education, dialogue, and advocacy can reshape our work environments for the better.

Pacific Construction’s Commitment to Equity

As a sponsor of Build Her Up, we had the opportunity to share our story and highlight the values that drive our work. Our president, Wilson Yu, spoke about our ongoing commitment to equity, inclusion, and opportunity in the trades. Today, 60 percent of our workforce is made up of women, a reflection of that commitment in action.

Real Impact and Lasting Inspiration

The Build Her Up event did more than spark conversation; it created real momentum. Professionals left feeling connected, empowered, and ready to lead.
Attendee Wendy shared,

“Thank you again for speaking at the Build her up event yesterday! It was very motivational and as a single mom I really related with your messages about your mother and how driven she was for your sake first and foremost. Your speech was motivational and as this was my first event I attend I already feel empowered by the people I met there. I am looking forward to my continuing journey in this world of trade!”

Wendy’s experience reflects the heart of what this event was all about: building confidence, community, and a clearer path forward for women in construction and the trades.
